Rubber Stamps Crafts
You may already know that rubber stamps are great for decorating cards and scrapbook pages. But what you may not know is that rubber stamps can also be used to decorate fabric as well. You can adorn tablecloths, pillows and even clothing using rubber stamps. The first thing you will need is the stamps you want to use and ink that is made to use with fabric. There are new hybrid inks that can be used on paper or fabric. Palette Hybrid and Clearsnap Crafters Ink Pads are examples of ink pads that can be applied to fabric and set with heat. There are plenty of rubber stamps crafts that can be done using fabric.
One fun project is to decorate a plain tablecloth. For this you will need a light colored tablecloth, stamps and ink. The possibilities are limitless. You could do a holiday tablecloth using a snowman or Christmas tree stamp. Or you could do a pretty floral design. You might also want to buy fabric pens or paints and add color to your stamped designs. Once your masterpiece is fully dry, you can iron it or put it in a hot clothes dryer to set the ink permanently. If a smaller project is what you had in mind, try stamping a pillowcase.
You can also use stamps to customize your clothes. To experiment with this, buy packs of cheap white T-shirts. The cheaper, the better. That way if you make a mistake, it's not a big deal. There are tons of ways to customize clothing with rubber stamps. You can go for a design or artistic image, or even stamp words on your shirt. Asian calligraphy is a popular and fashionable idea that can turn the most boring white shirt into something stylish. The key is to use your imagination and come up with a design that is from your heart.
Rubber stamps crafts are great because you get to exercise your artistic skills without having to be a master artist. In addition to using stamps on fabric you can create gorgeous works of art on paper as well. Artistic rubber stamps are like little works of art that you can stamp onto any surface you wish and then color in using your medium of choice. Stamps and stamp accessories come in many variations from simple to intricate. You will never get bored when you take up creative stamping as a hobby!
