Artistic Rubber Stamps
You are probably already familiar with rubber stamps. They are often used to address correspondence and can even be used to replace a signature. However, you may not know about artistic rubber stamps. These stamps are works of art, carved into rubber. Often they come unmounted and must be attached to a stamp base. Some art stamps come in sheets. Many stamp enthusiasts collect these stamps for creating their own gorgeous works of art. They are categorized into a variety of groups including alphabet, numerical, words and phrases, animals, people, holidays, accent designs and so many more.
You will need something to stamp on when using these stamps. The possibilities are unlimited. For example, you can go traditional and use your stamps on cards, letters, envelopes and scrapbooks. Scrapbooks are a creative way to showcase your photographs and art stamps can make each page even more special. You can even stamp other things like wood crafts, ceramic pottery and even fabric. Non-porous surfaces require a special type of ink. Palette Hybrid ink is a brand that can be used on porous and non-porous surfaces alike, although non-porous use requires heat setting.
When it comes to ink colors, there are lots of choices in every color of the rainbow. Many people prefer basic black for their art stamps so they can add color to the stamped image using the artistic medium of their choice. Colored pencils, markers, paints and chalks are all great ways to add color to your stamped images. Stamping can help you awaken the artist within and get your creativity going. You can get even more creative with unmounted stamps as they can be used on a variety of items that mounted stamps cannot, such as candles.
Many of the artistic rubber stamps sold online are created by small business owners who are artists themselves. You can find beautiful rubber stamps for a variety of different prices ranging from cheap to expensive. On average, a handmade art stamp will cost you around $10. Some stamps will cost less or more depending on their size and how intricate the artwork is. Stamps and stamp accessories are fun to collect and come in so many different varieties that you will never get bored!
