Online Rubber Stamps
Rubber stamps are popular with scrapbooking enthusiasts. These stamps can be bought in craft stores, or you can order online rubber stamps. Using the Internet to shop for your stamps is convenient and gives you a world of selection. You can find all kinds of different designs that you may not be able to find in your local stores. There are even sites where you can have customized stamps made to your specifications. You don't even have to do scrapbooking to enjoy stamping. There are plenty of other ways to use these stamps.
You can decorate cards and letters with stamped designs to give your correspondence a personal touch. In ancient times, rubber stamps were used to designate the authenticity of written correspondence. For example, a house of royalty would use their own customized stamp when sending out letters so that no one could impersonate them. Stamps became popular with many households and were used with wax to seal envelopes closed. Today, rubber stamps are less about correspondence and more about arts and crafts, although they are sometimes used to stamp names and addresses.
Rubber stamps can sometimes be used in lieu of one's signature, especially in a corporate environment. You can even have your own personal signature made into a rubber stamp. There are also numerical stamps made for stamping the date. These stamps are made from rubber which is mounted on a handle often made from wood or plastic. The ink for the stamp comes in a variety of different colors with the most popular colors being black, blue and red. There are even self inking stamps that do not require a separate ink pad.
When browsing for online rubber stamps you will see that there is an incredible variety of stamp styles available. You can find alphabet stamps, word stamps, picture stamps and more. Asian alphabet and word stamps are also popular. If you mail a lot of envelopes and get tired of writing your return address, there are even monogram stamps to make this task much easier.
